Blueocean Wind group successfully signed the design contract with Shanghai Merchant Ship Design & Research Institute(Sdari) for 2+2+2 large semi-submersible transport vessels on 12th May in Shanghai.lanshui1v3a

Six (6) years ago, Blueocean Wind Group (BOW) developed its strategy of “Rooted in China & deliver super-large global offshore projects with self-owned comprehensive resources” , mainly target offshore wind projects and LNG projects. As the one of the largest non-conventional forecastle, four-island semi-submersible deck vessel in the world, the launch of this vessel will perfectly align with BOW's strategy and debottleneck the delivery transportation for super-large global offshore projects. This vessel is capable of transporting up to 5 large OFW floaters at a time. Associated with international ship owners, BOW will build this type vessels in batch. BOW is a private company and owns six (6) newly built fabrication yards along China coast, all equipped with giant gantry cranes and deep water wet docks.lanshui2bdslanshui3lyb

The estimated cost of each Large Semi-Submersible Transport Vessel in this project is $165 million. These vessels represent the latest generation of vessels developed and designed by BOW and SDARI,with remarkable features list below:

1.Strong loading capacity:
The innovative design incorporates ultra-wide span extensions on both sides of the vessel, resulting in the widest effective deck among all semi-submersible vessels. This design allows the simultaneous loading of five large floating wind turbine foundations, significantly improving operational efficiency and market competitiveness.

2. Advanced performance:
The hull shape is optimized through fully parameterized multi-objective optimization, achieving a design speed of 14.5 knots with excellent performance, equipped with a DP2 dynamic positioning system, these systems ensure efficient and safe operations at sea.

3. Excellent adaptability:
The main deck is open fore and aft without obstruction, capable of carrying oversized cargo exceeding the length of the main deck, demonstrating exceptional adaptability and economic efficiency.

4. Powerful operational capability:
Equipped with a robust ballast water system, these vessels can submerge to a maximum draft of 27 meters within 4 hours, effectively ensuring the efficiency of cargo loading and unloading operations.

5. Energy saving and environmental features:
The vessels are equipped with energy-saving devices such as bubble-lubricated drag reduction systems, and SATR fluttering wing rudders, which significantly reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

The large semi-submersible transport vessels signed this time is another key tool for Blueocean Wind Group to deepen its commitment to the overseas and deep-sea dual sea industrial layout in cooperation with international partners. As the world's widest semi-submersible transport vessel without conventional forecastle, the delivery of these vessels will perfectly align with Blueocean Wind Group's development strategy of "based on China, serving the world", enhance the company's global product delivery capacity in the field of new energy and marine equipment, improve the group's vertical supply chain system, and establish the group's leading position in the field of new energy and marine equipment manufacturing.
